The Rotary Technology Tournament is held in March every year when pupils from local secondary schools work in teams to solve a technical problem. It could be to make a money sorting machine or design a small vehicle to remove debris from a bridge.Typically 100 students take part in 25 teams of four. Participants are given basic materials such a wood, paper, small electric motors, elastic bands to accomplish the task in around 4 hours. The event is organised by the three Rotary Clubs in St Albans and Harpenden Rotary Club.
The next event will take place at Marlborough Science Academy on Wednesday, 7th March 2018.
