Every year we support new international charities and projects that meet the criteria we set. Over the years these have included:

Sightsavers

Jaipur Limb

This is an Rotary International in Britian and Ireland supported charity that provides cheap but robust prostheses to amputees or polio victims, some of whom have had to shuffle round on wheeled boards for years. Remarkable results. Read more http://www.rotaryjaipurlimb.org.uk/

The Joe Homan charity

Joe was so appalled by the number of street children living in poverty in India that in 1965 he started the first of a number of boys’ homes where the boys could be properly fed, educated and taught a trade from which they could make a living. Khandel Light

This was started in 2000 by Dr.Peter Gough, “The community currently supported by Khandel Light consists of 26 villages with a total population of around 30,000, covering an area of approximately 120 square miles. Read more at https://www.khandel-light.co.uk/about/the-charity

Farm Africa

Farm Africa is an innovative charity that reduces poverty by unleashing African farmers' abilities to grow their incomes in an environmentally sustainable way. Read more at https://www.farmafrica.org/

Our members have had good contacts with these charities and are able to ensure we get good feedback about where our donations go. New projects we have given to recently include Just a Drop and Mary's Meals.
