The Rotary Club of St Albans Verulamium supports refugees

St Albans for Refugees ( StAR) is pulling out all the stops for refugees here in St Albans and also in Calais, Syria, Uganda and Yemen. The Rotary Club of St Albans Verulamium has donated £1000 from its Christmas Charity Appeal to StAR to provide raincoats and other items for these refugees.

“StAR will be using this generous donation to provide raincoats and rice to refugees in France and also to continue with our work with refugees who have settled in Hertfordshire”, says Liz Needham of StAR. ”Eight families of refugees who have fled the Syrian war are now living in St Albans. They are receiving StAR's  assistance, as well as assistance from other local refugee charities”.

Rajesh Joshi, President of the Rotary Club of St Albans Verulamium presents a cheque for £1000 to Liz Needham of St Albans for Refugees.

Kids Out

In June we took 17 children from Heathlands School for the Deaf in St Albans on a day out to Whipsnade Zoo. Visiting numerous animal enclosures. Having a picnic lunch and riding the train were all highlights of the day. Our team of Rotarians also had a fun time.
